Get Ready For The Storm

Over the last two weeks, America had been inundated with storms and talks of upcoming storms. In the natural, it's quite impressive that meteorologists can predict when, where, and the intensity of upcoming storms. However, anyone who has lived life knows that personal life storms cannot be as easily predicted. A sudden loss of a job, unexpected death of a loved one, a heartbreaking betrayal, life threatening sickness, can leave you in a massive storm. Sadly, no meteorologist can predict when, where, nor the intensity.

NO storm catches God by surprise!!

However, you can be sure that you WILL experience times in your life time where you see your life is flooded, and it seems like all is loss.

How then, can you prepare for the unexpected storms of life?

What spiritual hurricane kit can ever keep you prepped for a life that is...life? I believe the Lord wants you to stay prepared. Keep your spiritual pantry stocked with the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Never allow yourself to be without the living water (John 4:13-14). Stay connected to the supplier (John 15:5). We see in a natural hurricane , many rush out to prepare for the storm days before. Before long stores run out of supplies and people are left trying to figure out how they will get what they need. However, those who are always prepared have to no need to panic. When the storm comes, they can know full well in their heart that their "house is in order". Nonetheless, keep in mind that our God never runs out of resources or His love. I encourage you today to keep your spiritual house in order.

Maintain the attitude of victory (Deuteronomy 20:4).

Know where to find a plan of evacuation in the word of God (Proverbs 3:5-6). His Word is the perfect road map to know where to run.

Recognize He is your comforter and in His arms you will always find your refuge (Psalm 91:2).

When you do this, the storm may hurt a little, but you will have the foundation set to easily recover. Though things may be broken on the outside, you shall find you are not permanently damaged. Isaiah 59:19b- When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
